THE UNION BANK OF AUSTRALIA LIMITED, proof fourth issue, one pound, Wellington, on card, dated 1st Jany 18, not numbered, imprint of Perkins Bacon & Co, London, Patent Hardened Steel Plate, rectangular block cut out in Manager signature area to indicate a specimen or proof issue, pencil notation below 'waiting for date, to this 14th July 1881, black on white (L.527; P.S356; Robb M.22). Has been stuck on paper in two corners, otherwise extremely fine and very rare.
