VESPASIAN, (A.D. 69-79), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 70, (3.07 g), obv. laureate head of Vespasian to right, around IMP CAESAR VESPASIANVS AVG, rev. Pax seated to left holding olive branch and caduceus, COS ITER TR POT around, (S.2285, RIC 10, RSC 94h). Good very fine and very scarce.

Ex Freeman & Sear Mail bid sale 17, December 15, 2009 (lot 198) from the A. Lynn Collection. The Reka-Devnia hoard contained 1725 denarii of Vespasian but none of this variety.
