COMMODUS, (A.D. 177-192), AE sestertius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 185, (21.65 g), obv. laureate head of Commodus to right, around M COMMODVS ANT ON AVG PIVS BRIT, rev. around [P M TR P X IMP VII COS IIII P P], in exergue [ITALIA], S C across, Italia, turreted, seated left on globe, holding cornucopiae and sceptre, (S.5761, RIC 447, C.267). Dark brown patina, short on flan, nearly very fine and rare.
