MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.12 g), Unceretain Macedon or Greece mint, issued by Kassander as regent or later and struck 310-275 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus Aetophoros seated on throne to left with decorative footstool, eagle in outstretched hand, sistern patern over A in left field, monogeram under throne, to right **ALEXANDROU*, (cf.S.6713, Price 840, BMC 840, Meydancikkale 500-1, Propontis Hoard 151, SNG Ash. 3163, M.1550). Nearly extremely fine/ extremely fine and very rare.
