GERMAN SOUTH WEST AFRICA, Namibia, Luderitzbucht Pass in bronze, uniface and undated, impressed number 5228 on obverse, German Empire crown at top, holed for wear (Hern 810m). Very fine.

Luderitzbucht, formerly Angra Pequena, was named in honour of German explorer Adolf Luderitz after he failed to return from an expedition to the Orange River in 1866. The town became a naval base for German South West Africa. The Luderitzbucht Pass was used as a town pass for local natives.
