CARIA, Carian Islands, Rhodos (Rhodes), (275-250 B.C.), silver didrachm, (6.80 g), Erasikles magistrate, obv. radiate head of Helios three-quarter face to right with hair loose, rev. rose, with bud on right, on left Phrygian helmet, below P O across, above **ERASIKLHS*, all within dotted border, (S.5048, Ashton 187, SNG Cop.738, cf.SNG Finland 536). Attractive blue toning on obverse, struck slightly off centre, very fine, rare.
