REMEMBRANCE TOKEN, George III, cartwheel twopence, 1797 (S.3776), at the base of the obverse inscribed, 'May 21, 1819', around the rim inscribed, 'A Token of Remembrance from J.T. to his Sister M.Thompson'. Pitting and scuffing, otherwise very good - fine.
Possible convict connections include James Thompson convicted on 15 January 1819 at Sussex Quarter Sessions to Transportation for 7 years departing on the Coromandel on 27 October 1819. The other possibility is also James Thompson convicted on 8 March 1819 at Essex Assizes to Transportation for a term of 14 years departing on the Dromedary on 11 September 1819.
