PRIZE FOB MEDAL, in 9ct gold (4.04g), obverse, euphonium handcrafted and fitted in centre, inscribed above, '1934' and below, 'Q.B.A', reverse inscribed, 'Presented by/W.H.Paling & Co Ltd/Rockhampton/Contest/Champion Euphonium/Won By/W.Gummow'.Extremely fine.

Prizes were presented by the Mayor of Rockhampton, Ald J.T.Lee who was also president of the contest committee. The Champion Euphonium Solo was won by W.Gummow of Maryborough Naval with a score of 95.1. The adjudicator said that the winner was a very good player and had given an excellent performance. W.Gummow was the conductor of the Maryborough Naval Band.
