CHINA, Northern Sung Dynasty, Emperor Jen Tsung, (A.D. 1023-1063), iron money tree of 37 large iron coins in four rows (one broken off), issued as Chih-ho (1054-1055), each coin 32mm, tree length 440 mm, width 184 mm, (cf.S.512 for single iron cash, TFP 932). Fair, somewhat rusted, very rare, stored in silk lined Chinese manufactured case.

Ex Barry McGown Scott Collection, previously from Noble Numismatics Auction Sale 80 (lot 3556) and Singapore Sale 40 (lot 480 where it is illustrated).

This is a very rare, large and near perfect iron money tree.
