FRANCE, Exposition Universelle Paris, 1878, in bronze (51mm), by Oudine, obverse, head of Ceres with Concorde headband left, reverse, scene of Exposition building; Loire, Society of Agriculture and viticulture prize medal, undated, in silver (50mm), by Lancelot, obverse, head of Marianne left, reverse, wreath of grapes and fruits, unnamed; Est-Nancy, Equestrian Competition, 1887, in silver (42mm), by Bescher, obverse, horse bust left, reverse, wreath and inside a beaded circle, Courses Au Trot/Monte/1ere Division' (Mounted Trotting Races 1st Division), unnamed; Military Physical Training prize medal, undated, in bronze (50mm), by Grandhomme, obverse, soldier with gun next to a woman in antique dress holding a pike and sitting on a cannon, in the background a battle scene, reverse, a lion lying in front of a plaque marked for Prize of the Minister of War, unnamed, and around various items of war. First nearly extremely fine; second very fine; third with a few minor edge nicks, otherwise very fine; the last in case of issue, catch not working, a few areas of light oxidation, otherwise extremely fine. Mounted trotting is a riding test run mainly in France and Belgium whereby the horse and rider try to reach the winning post first by staying at the trot, a gallop resulting in disqualification.
