WAX SEAL, for The Archdeacon of Van Diemen's Land. Affixed to cardboard, very fine.

Van Diemen's Land was renamed Tasmania in 1856. The first archdeacon of Van Diemen's Land was Reverend William Hutchins, appointed 1836 and died 1841. The Hutchins School, founded at Hobart in 1846, was named in his memory.
