SCOTLAND, Stornaway, unissued twenty shillings (one pound), 1st July 1823, issued by James Alexander Stewart Mackenzie, No. b/418, recorded in two places on note in red ink at lower right and in left margin in black ink, sailing ship with furled sails and 'Flourish Commerce' flag to top centre, 'JASM' with 'SM' in scroll at left, George IV cartouche on back with five pence revenue stamp, unsigned. Extremely fine and rare, estimated 1,000 notes produced.

Stornaway now spelt Stornoway.
