ANTONINUS PIUS, (A.D. 138-161), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued 156-7, (2.74 g), obv. ANTONINVS AVG PIVS P P IMP II, laureate head to right, rev. TR POT XX COS IIII, Salus seated left on low seat, feeding from a patera a snake rising from altar, Salus resting hand on seat, (cf.S.4127, RIC 264, RSC 1023, BMC 882). Bright, off centred reverse, out extremely fine, scarce.
