ANCIENT BRITISH, Cantiaci, (c.45-40 B.C.), gold quarter stater, (1.26 g), Caesar's trophy type, obv. plain, rev. stylised Roman trophy, cross-hatched box either side, two large cross-hatched circles and central double rim above, ring and crescent below, (S.47, ABC 192, Van A 145 and 147, BMC 437-43, M 38). Nicely toned gold, neat round flan with a bold trophy, well centred and nearly extremely fine, rare.
