ANCIENT BRITISH, Western Region, Inscribed coins, Dobunni, Eisu Tree type, (c.20-43 A.D.), gold stater, (5.45 g), obv. tree-symbol on plain field, rev. horse to right, EISV, two pellets and small x above forming hidden face, six spoked wheel below, (S.381, ABC 2078, Van A 1105, WE 8, BMC 3039-42, M 388). Smooth surfaces of rose gold, nice horse, full EISV and wheel, nearly extremely fine - extremely fine and rare.

Chris Rudd notes that this is one of the finest EISV staters he has handled. No scuffs, scratches, grazes or deep striking cracks. No blemishes of any description. A beautiful piece.
