PAIR: Queen's South Africa Medal 1899, (type 3 reverse); King's South Africa Medal 1902. First medal a replacement with name erased, Nursing Sister A.N.Martin on second medal. Named medal impressed. Good very fine.

Together with small photo frame containing photo of Nursing Sister Martin in her nurse's uniform.



A.N.Martin, born in New Zealand in 1874; emigrated to Australia in 1890; Enl.28Aug1900 in Army Nursing Service Reserve while in England; 19May1901 posted to 10 General Hospital at Bloomfontein and then to 5 Stationary Hospital at Bloomfontein; 14Jul1901 to 1st General Hospital Wittebergen.



Only 570 KSAs awarded to nurses. Sister Martin entitled to QSA and KSA, both without clasps.
