Colin Christopher 'Cocky' Griffin, labourer, age 20, born at Carlton, Vic; Enl.01May1940 at the Drill Hall, Area 5, South Melbourne, Vic; Disch.29Nov1943 as Private ex 2/14Bn; reason for discharge was 'to be employed in industry'.
2/14Bn served in the Middle East and saw action against the Vichy French in Syria in June and July 1941; Emb.06Aug1942 for New Guinea; unit cut-off for six weeks on Kokoda Track; RTA 11Jan1943 from New Guinea; during overseas service was AWL 29 days and in detention for 67 days.
