HENRY II, (1154-1189), silver penny, cross and crosslets (Tealby) coinage, bust D2, issued 1165-8, Chester mint, obverse, [hEN]RI RX, rev. +PILLELM[:ON:C]E[S], (William of Chester), (S.1340; N.958/2; BMC 234-237, Pl.xx,16-7 [same dies]). Toned, round nearly very fine or better and very rare.

Ex William J.Conte Collection and previously from the F.Elmore Jones Glendining's Sale, 7th October 1986 (lot 1695) and Noble Numismatics Sale 70 (lot 1583). This example is finer than the examples in the British Museum.
