DAGGER, ancient bronze age (15th - 6th century B.C.), dagger with length 33cms, hilt 8.5 cms, comes with a tapering blade and a grip and a fluted frame lines, type of a period c.15-13th century B.C. similar to those of the Transcaucasus. Very fine with evidence of pitting on the blade from conservation.

Bronze Age swords appeared from around the 17th century BC, in the Black Sea region and the Aegean, as a further development of the dagger. They were replaced by iron swords during the early part of the 1st millennium BC. From an early time the swords reached lengths in excess of 100 cm.
