INDIA, British, Madras Presidency, 1812-1817, Second European Style Coinage, in the name of Alamgir II (AH1167-1173) AD 1754-1759, open lotus type, silver rupees (2 different dies), quarter rupee, eighth rupee, impressed with the mint name Arkat, type as mohur with frozen date, AH1172, Regnal Year 6, edge with centre graining to left, eighth rupee edge grained to right (Pr. 251, 255, 257, KM. 408, 409, 410). Very fine or better, one rupee with red and blue tone. (4)

Ex Glendining's 10 September 1986 (lot 164 part) for eighth rupee, toned rupee from S.Hagley Collection.
