ITALY, Normans in Calabria, Roger I (1072-1101), AE trifollaro (11.95 g), obv. knight with triangular shield and conical helmet, holding flag on long pole, on horse standing left, rev. Virgin Mary seated right holding infant Christ, (CNI XVIII pg. 287, 15; Biaggi 1583; MEC 14, 93; Sambon 876) (illustrated); together with Justinian I, (A.D. 527-565), AE follis, Antioch as Theoupolis mint, issued 560-561, officina **G*, (18.72 g), obv. Justinian bust facing, rev. M, X/X/X/IIII to right, THEUP in exergue, large flan, **G* below M, (S.223). Green patina on second coin, otherwise fine - nearly very fine. (2)
