MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.76 g), Babylon mint, issued 311-305 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, to left M I, **MP* monogram in wreath below throne, **[BASILEWS]* in exergue, **ALEXANDRO[U]* to right, (cf.S.6713, Price 3752, BMC 3752, M.735). Toned, nearly very fine.
