John James Eaves, paper mill labourer, age 27, born at Samlesbury, Preston, Lancashire; served in 6Bn East Lancashire Regt; KIA 13Mar1917 at Mesopotamia; commemorated at the Basra Memorial near Zubayr, Iraq.

With research including condolence slip from Buckingham Palace, digital copy of Memorial Scroll, history of East Lancashire Regt in WWI, 1911 census roll and other information.
