WWI SAILOR'S DIARY, believed to belong to a seaman, J.Stewart aboard HMAT Medic, includes details of the first transportation of troops to the Middle East via Western Australia including details of the HMAS Sydney - SMS Emden battle on 9 November 1914, also one of the troops on board the Medic was John Simpson Kirkpatrick (later the Donkey Man of Gallipoli), the small diary includes among other entries, approx 30 pages relating to the above voyage, and it is stored in a brown leather wallet that bears a gold blocked inscription on the inside, 'Presented To/W.Cosgrove Esq./From A Few Pals/As A Token Of Esteem/Nov. 22 1930.' Fine.
