BRITISH WEST INDIES, cut and countermarked issue, Tortola, 1823, type II countermark, silver half dollar, Tirtila raised in crude lettering within a shaped indent countermarked on a Charles IIII eight reales, Mexico City Mint, 1805 (9.76g) (Pr.8; KM.19). Original coin very good, countermark good very fine.

Ex Alan McRae Collection, probably from the Hopkins Hoard.
