BRITISH WEST INDIES, Tortola 1805-23, type II countermark, silver half dollar, Tirtila raised in crude lettering within a shaped indent countermarked in a cut half segment of a Charles III eight reales (cf Pr8; KM.19), countermarked with three crude Ss on the reverse (for St Kitts, 1801), the S punch is crude without serifs. Very fine.
