GERMANY, Sachsen (Saxony), Augustus, (1553-1586), silver thaler, 40mm, (29.11 g), Dresden mint, Hans Biener, mintmaster, dated 1578, obv. AVGVSTVS. D:G. DVX. SAXO. SA. ROMA. IMP., armored, bare-headed bust right, wielding two-handed sword; 15 78 across field, rev. ARCHIMARS CHAL. ET. ELEC, complex (12 part) coat-of-arms topped by three ornate helmets, HB monogram above, (Schnee 725, Sammlung Vogel 6651, Dav. 9798). Nearly very fine.
