BYZANTINE, gilded silver necklace, (c.6th-10th century A.D.), formed of alternating hollow diamond and sphere shapes, terminating in a conical centrepiece with scrollwork design, (length 550mm), strung for wear with a modern clasp. Very fine and scarce.
