Private Charles Rolph is recorded on the roll of NCOs and men of the 1st Waikato Regiment who volunteered for service with the Imperial Commissariat Transport Corps (NZ Gazette No.31 of 31 May 1871). He is not recorded as an Australian enlistment in Australians in the Waikato War 1863-1864 by Leonard L.Barton.
