TRIO: India General Service Medal 1854-95, - clasp - Persia; Indian Mutiny Medal 1857-58, - two clasps - Lucknow, Defence of Lucknow; Army Long Service and Good Conduct Medal (VRI with swivelling scroll suspension). B.Canning, 78th Highlanders on first two medals, 2469 Bernard Canning. 78th Foot on last medal. All medals impressed. Swing mounted on brooch bar, contact marks, otherwise fine - very fine.
Indian Mutiny clasps entitlement to Pte Bernard Canning confirmed.
78th Foot (2nd Seaforth Highlanders) were part of the 1st Relief Force in the Defence of Lucknow.
