CARACALLA, (A.D. 198-217), silver denarius, issued 217, Rome mint, (3.44 g), obv. laureate head to right of Caracalla, around ANTONINVS PIVS AVG GERM, rev. Sol standing left with raised hand & whip around P M TR P XX COS IIII P P, (S.6848, RIC 293d, RSC 389). Toned, extremely fine with some mint bloom, very scarce.

Ex Dr V.J.A.Flynn Collection and previously CNG Auction 202, lot 372. With ticket.
