ISLAMIC, Zangids, Anatolia & al-Jazira (Post-Seljuk), Nur al-Din Mahmud,?AH 541-569 = AD1146-1173, AE dirham 23mm, (4.14 g), al-Halab (Aleppo) mint, obv. two Byzantine style imperial figures standing facing, supporting between them labarum resting on three steps, rev. Christ standing facing, holding Gospels, (A.1850, S&S Type 73). Fine - very fine, dark brown patina, areas of flat strike, scarce.
