ROMAN, bronze seal boxes, (c.2nd-3rd century A.D.), of circular form with hinged lids, decorated with concentric circles, (20mm long). Toned, very fine. (2)

From an old Sydney collection with collector's tickets.

These seal boxes contained a wax seal and were associated with the Roman military. They were sewn onto fabric or leather containers that held documents.
