BRITISH INDIA, Madras Presidency, European Style Coinages, second Issue, 1808, silver quarter pagoda, obv. Gopuram of a temple with 9 stars each side, around in English QUARTER PAGODA, in letters with stops, rev. deity Vishnu standing surrounded by dotted circles, ribbon ending in star, in native text 'half a flower (or star) pagoda', (KM.352). Very fine, toned and rare.

Ex Dr V.J.A. Flynn Collection and previously Baldwin Auctions, London, Sale 8/9 lot 1277, with collector's ticket.
