MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.22 g), Salamis mint, issued 332-323 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, to left a bow, **ALEXANDROU* to right, (cf.S.6713, Price 3139, BMC 3139a-h, M.1287). Traces of hoard patination, otherwise good very fine.
