MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.13 g), Chios mint?, issued 290-270 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with line border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, triskeles in field to left, **[ALEX]AND[ROU]* to right, (cf.S.6730, Price -, Bauslaugh, Posthumous -, Leu 86, 361, Gemini I, 88). Toned, extremely fine and very rare.
