CRETE, Gortyna, (2nd-1st century B.C.), silver drachm, (3.07 g), obv. diademed head of Zeus to right, rev. naked male figure (Gortys) advancing to front, hand on shield, holding spear in left hand, around, around **GORYUNIWN, D* in exergue, (cf.S.3186, Sv.153 [p.176, cf.Pl.XVI, 12]). Very dark tone, good very fine and rare.
