FAUSTINA JUNIOR, (died 175 A.D.) wife of Marcus Aurelius, (161-180 A.D.), AE sestertius, Rome mint, issued 161-175 A.D., (23.76 g), obv. draped bust of Faustina right, around FAVSTINA AVGVSTA, rev. around FECVNDITAS, Fecunditas standing right, resting on sceptre and holding infant in left hand, S C across field, (S.5274, RIC 1638). Deep brown toning, good very fine and scarce in this condition.

Ex Noble Numismatics sale 115 (lot 4423), acquired from Strand Coins, 31 July 2008 and coming from the Terry Naughton Collection.
