PESCENNIUS NIGER, (A.D. 193-194), silver denarius, Antioch mint, (3.69 g), obv. laureate head of Pescennius Niger to right, around IMP CAES C PESC NIGERIVS AVG COS II , rev. around BONAE SPEI, Spes standing left, holding flower and lifting hem of skirt, (S.6101, RIC 3d, RSC 6). Uneven toning, slight flan crack, otherwise very fine and very rare.

Ex Dr V.J.A.Flynn Collection and previously CNG Auction 202, lot 335. With ticket.
