SOLD $180

AUSTRALIA, WWII, autographed, handcrafted timber Central Australian hunting boomerang (approx 61.5cm long), in the centre area is penned, 'No. 5 Plt.' and below are two signatures, one being D M Holbrook (SX24489 Dudley Malcolm Holbrook, enlisted at Alice Springs, Northern Territory), with a total of approximately 64 penned signatures from one end to the other. Very fine and an interesting piece of historic war-related memorabilia.

During WWII Alice Springs was an active staging base as well as a depot base and thousands of soldiers passed through or were stationed there. Perhaps the above autographed boomerang relates to personnel that passed through the area.
