QUEEN'S SOUTH AFRICA MEDAL 1899, (type 3 reverse), - six clasps - Tugela Heights, Relief of Ladysmith, Orange Free State, Transvaal, Laing's Nek, South Africa 1901. Br. F.G.Seddon. Natal Vol: Amb: C. Impressed. Extremely fine.

Bearer Frederick George Seddon, Natal Volunteer Ambulance Corps, served 09 December 1899 to 12 March 1900 after the unit was disbanded at the end of February 1900. The unit worked with the assistance of the Natal Indian Ambulance Corps formed by Mahatma Gandhi. This latter unit was also disbanded at the same time following the arrival of a large number of British reinforcements.
