SEVERUS ALEXANDER, (A.D.222-235), silver denarius, issued 232, Rome mint, (2.64 g), obv. laureate bust to right, draped and cuirassed, around IMP ALEXAN DER PIVS AVG, rev. P M TR P XI COS III P P, Sol standing facing head to left, holding globe and raising right hand, (S.7914, RIC 112, RSC 427); another the similar holding whip, (2.88 g), (RIC 114, RSC 434). Extremely fine both with delightful patination. (2)

Ex Noble Numismatics Sale 116 (lot 4789) and from Dr. V.J.A. Flynn Collection and previously from Noble Numismatics Sale 109 (lot 3852) and the D.J.Foster Collection.
