EDWARD THE CONFESSOR, (1042-1066), penny, Sovereign type, issued 1056-1059, obv. EADWARDVS REX ANGLO, king crowned, facing seated on throne, rev. LIFINC ON PINCEST (Lifinc of Winchester) with short cross voided eagles in each angle, (S.1181, N.827, Br.7, BMC ix). Toned, weak in places, otherwise nearly very fine and rare.
