DOMITIAN, as Caesar under Vespasian, (A.D. 81-96), silver denarius, Rome mint, issue of A.D. 79, (3.462 grams), obv. CAESAR AVG F DOMITIANVS COS VI, laureate head to right, rev. PRINCEPS IVVENTVTIS, Salus standing to left, leaning on column and holding snake, which she feeds from a patera, (cf.S.2672, RIC V243, RSC 384). Nice attractive light patina with golden peripheral highlights, nearly extremely fine and rare in this condition.
