CONSTANTIUS I, (A.D. 293-306), silver argentius, Treveri mint, issued A.D. c.295-7 (2.514 grams), obv. laureate head of Constantius I to right, around CONSTA[N] TIVS NOB C, rev. around VIRTVS MILITVM, D in exergue, four princes sacrificing over tripod before gate of six turret enclosure, (cf.S.3662, RIC 110a, RSC.312b). Broken and repaired, otherwise nearly very fine and very rare.

Ex Cornelius C. Vermeule III Collection, sold in Triton III (lot 1729 part) for the benefit of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts with his ticket.
