ITALY, Lucania, Metapontum, (c.400-350 B.C.), silver stater or nomos, (7.55 grams), obv. head of female to right, the hair is held bound by a sphendone or sakkos, rev. corn ear, META to left, stalk to right, [K reversed above stalk], (cf.S.409, Noe [NN&M 47, 1984] 514, SNG ANS 384 [same dies]). Very fine and very scarce.
