GROUP OF FIVE: 1939-45 Star; Africa Star; Defence Medal; British War Medal 1939-45; Australia Service Medal NX5547 W.N. Smith Impressed. Very fine.
With attestation form showing that he initially enlisted into the 2/4th Bn. AIF and later transferred to the 2/1st Australian Field Regt. Included with the papers is an enlistment photograph. His occupation is stated as Jackeroo and that he was born in Edinburgh Scotland. His B 103 service Documents state 'KILLED IN ACTION - Killed whilst serving his gun in action at Derna. Enemy shell landed in gun pit at about 1630 hours, killed instantly 26/1/1941.' Buried Derna Map reference 440395 27/1/1941.
