QUEEN VICTORIA, Sydney Mint pattern half sovereign, 1855 (3.96 grams) by L.C. Wyon at the Royal Mint, edge grained. Second type obverse showing Queen wearing a wreath and having a braid of hair around and underneath her ear, the type introduced into currency in 1857. A superb brilliant and frosted proof in flawless mint condition, FDC, excessively rare and probably the finest known.
