L. LIVINEIUS REGULUS, (42 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.34 grams), obv. head of praetor L. Livineius Regulus to right, REGVLVS PR around, rev. L. LIVINEIVS above curule chair, between six fasces, [REGVLVS] in exergue, (cf.S.329 [£150], Cr.494/27, Syd.1109, B.Livineia 10 [£95]). Attractive dark patina, off centred on the reverse, weak in places, otherwise good very fine and very scarce.

Ex Dr. John A. Sawhill Collection, and James Madison University Foundation, sold Stacks, March 15-16, 1979 (lot 532 part). Less than 30 obverse dies used on this type according to Crawford.
