ITALY, Calabria, Taras, (272-235 B.C.), silver nomos, stater or didrachm, (6.23 grams), obv. warrior in helmet with shield on stationary horse to left, below, traces of **ARISTWN, rev. Taras astride a dolphin to left, holding hippocamp and trident, to right **IWP, **TAPAS below, (S.376, Vl.931, SNG ANS 1239). Surface scratches, otherwise fine.
